I have a PhD in Education at the University of Western Sydney in 2006. I love teaching and have excellent pedagogical skills. I have 10-year experience teaching English to learners from different ethnic and socio-cultural background and from different groups of ages. My teaching experience include teaching English to Vietnamese and Korean university students at Vietnamese National University, tutoring Singaporean students at Faculty of Arts of National University of Singapore, teaching Hong Kong and Korean teenagers/ students for EF Language Travel and ABC Study Groups, and teaching Vietnamese and English to adult learners at Sydney Community College (see details) and to immigrants to Australian at MTC Training Solutions.
At the present, I have been working as a lecturer (Academic Study Skills) at ACN - La Trobe University (see details). I have also been a trainer for LLNP Program at MTC Training Solutions from 2006 to 2007. I have also taught ESL and Vietnamese Language at Sydney Community College from December 2005. I also worked as an accredited English-Vietnamese translator as I have NATTI Certificate Level 3 in Vietnamese-English Translation.
I have worked as an educational writer and teaching material developer for an e-learning project (Red Apple Education Pty Ltd – http://www.skwirk.com) from April to October 2006. My main responsibilities include developing the outline for each unit in 4 subjects (English, History, Science and PHDIE) from the syllabus of primary and secondary schools of different states of Australia.
I have also worked as a designer of the teaching materials and assessment tests for General English and IELTS Programs at ABC Study Groups at the preparation of this language school (for about 2 months).
I also have 5 year working experience of teaching English Phonetics and Phonology, English Syntax, English Grammar, teaching and tutoring IELTS, TOEIC, TOEFL examinations to Vietnamese and Korean ESL students at the Department of English Languages and Literature of University of Social Sciences and Humanities of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam from 1997-2002. I also had 2 year experience of tutoring English Phonetics and Phonology at National University of Singapore when I did my Master of Arts in English Languages and Linguistics there. I am the co-author of the CD-ROM English for Distance Learning (National-level Project – 3 CDs) made in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam in 2001.
I also worked as a Teacher of English and Team Leader for EF Language Travel in Sydney from August 2003 to September 2003. I worked as English teachers at Clever Kids Education Centre and at James An Coaching College -Wollongong.
I have successfully completed a project with the Ethnic Community Councils of NSW as a Research Assistant, working on the project ‘Finding the Location of Small and Emerging Communities in Inner West Sydney’ from November 2004 to February 2005. In this project, my responsibility is to undertake an independent primary research on the languages spoken by the emerging communities and their residential locations in Sydney. I also assist and collaborate with the executive officer in his project.

I have been currently working part-time as a Project Liason Officer for Cancer Council NSW in the 'B Positive' Project. I play a key role in developing relationships with stakeholders from communities in the south western Sydney area including General Practitioners and Specialists and academic researchers participating in the development of the project.
I am currently working as part-time Language Consultant for Carnegie Enterprises, an educational research and television production company. My current project with Carnegie Enterprises is relating to the translation and subtitling of documentary film 'Visions of Leadership' about the footage of world leaders relevant to APEC meeting in Sydney in September 2007 to be broadcast in Australia ovre the weekend 7-9 September 2007.
I have worked as an informant and data processor for research at MARS Laboratory (University of Western Sydney) studying on Vietnamese tone and Vietnamese pronunciation from September 2003 – October 2003.
I have taught ESL at Sydney Community College from December 2005. My main duties include designing teaching materials, preparing and conducting teaching, undertaking marking and assessment and providing feedback to students. I have also been working as an accredited English-Vietnamese translator.
I am the author of the CD-ROM English for Distance Learning (National-level Project – 3 CDs) made in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam in 2001.
I am the co-author the software 'English Transcription' (http://www.itcad.net/)
I also work as a translator for many Vietnamese newspapers (Kien Thuc Ngay Nay, The Gioi Moi, Khoa Hoc va Doi Song) from 1996-2000.
I also work as a part-time translator for some projects at Fox Studios. My duties including translating the transcripts of the Vietnamese inteviewees and match the translation subtitles with the real speech.
